Deo Gratias
A few hours from now, it would officially be Thanksgiving Day in the US. But aside from the commemoration of the English Settlers and Native Indian, turkey killings, pumpkin pies, mall sales, etc - our family has a lot, an understatement, to be thankful for.
My dad, a couple of weeks ago, called in sick for work due to dizziness. He was not able to work for more than the week due to his constant headache/dizziness. I told my mom that he might be suffering from vertigo and better have him checked by the doctors. Last week my mom called to inform us, me and benedict, that my dad would undergo angiogram to check any blockage in his blood vessels. I was hopeful for positive results, thinking that my dad might just have been overworked, stressed out, etc. It came a bit of a suprise - well, yeah, me being calm and astoic about anything - that my dad would have to get operated, quad bypass operation, that is. His blockage is up to 90%, a clan record as joseph texted me, so angioplasty is not a viable option - since angioplasty works only to 70%. (yeah wiki helps - for quickie info)
I was shaken at first, but looking upon statistics and survival stories on the internet made me calm. By average, 98% of this kind of operation is successful and a mere 2% screws up. 98% looks good anytime of the day, especially that he's operated at the States and not in some hospital here, no offense really. Plus 98% success rate is better than a 50/50 heart attack rate. With the law of averages on our side, I remember kidding my dad before he was brought to the OR - "eh kasi naman yosi pa ng yosi" to which he said "anak ng... isang taon na nga akong di... mumble mumble" and which prompted my mom to get angry - "alam nang may sakit si papa sa puso eh... blah blah blah". Oh well, same old me.
The following are the emails that my uncle sends to our family's ygroup to keep other members updated about the operation - plus copy pasting it will save me time in typing.

Obama writes.. Pinoy.
Pinay girl writes to Obama, gets response Eight-year-old Fil-Am Karina Encarnacion recommended a dog that president-elect Barack Obama should get for his daughters, and in return got "three bits of advice that will make your life more fulfilling." Karina sent Obama a two-page handwritten letter in September, and suggested a Coton de Tulear, a small Bichon-type dog named after the city in Madagascar, for its soft cottony coat, noting that "they do not shed, they are very lovable, small and very soft." She said she has one, named Murphy, who "is very smart and sweet." Obama has promised his two daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, that they can have a dog when they move in to the White House. In a surprise reply received last Oct. 30, Obama told Karina, "Look out for other people, even when it does not directly benefit you; strive to make a difference everywhere you go; and get back up every time you are knocked down." Karina, a fourth grader in Missouri, told the then candidate that "I think you will make a very good president… I think that you will make wise decisions for the country." She also offered some suggestions for the future president: "Would it be possible for you to make a law that requires everyone to recycle… And would it be possible to ban unnecessary wars?" Obama's letter, dated Oct. 20, thanked her "for your kind words, your dog suggestion and for your support. I am impressed with your interest in politics, especially at your young age. I appreciate your idea to make a law requiring people to recycle and to ban unnecessary wars." Karina told the candidate that her mother, who is not a US citizen, has nevertheless volunteered for his campaign, going door-to-door to "encourage people to vote for you. She said that since she can't vote, she wanted at least one person to vote in her place." Cindy Herbosa-Encarnacion, who holds a PhD in Biology, is the director of the St. Louis Science Center. Karina told Obama that "my mother also said that if you become president, she will become a citizen for sure." Karina's father John is a professor at St. Louis University in Missouri. "Creating change and making the world better is not always easy, and you will probably find in your life that it is more comfortable to ignore injustices that don't affect you directly. Don't take that comfortable road. Challenge yourself to make a difference," Obama wrote. "If you don't already know what it means, I want you to look up the word 'empathy' in the dictionary. I believe we don't have enough empathy in our world today, and it is up to your generation to change that." "I hope you will always be an active participant in the world around you, and that you will seize every opportunity to make the world better," he added. "Seeing young people like you who care about making things better inspires me and gives me great hope about the future of our country." Obama's letter, which included an autographed picture that she requested, was sent to Karina's home in Cedarbrook Lane, Kirkwood, Missouri. SOURCE (yeah, it's teresa herrera's multiply account)

Won't Be So Easy
Kate Voegele
Won't be so easy
this time to hurt me
You can try
and this time now baby there are no tears left here to cry
if you think you can woo me like before
if you think you can do that anymore
wont get too far no,
you cant break a broken heart
so try your best now baby try your best to break me
you cant break a broken heart
no damage you can do now
im immune to you now
you cant break what broke apart
theres nothing you can do to me no more
you cant break a broken heart
hurt me before now
wont hurt no more now
not this time
you might do better
messing with someone elses mind
cause youre not gonna break me down again
your done and through with me they way you did
its gone too far
you cant break a broken heart
so try you best now baby
try your best to break me
you cant break a broken heart
no damage you can do now
im immune to you now
you cant break what broke apart
theres nothing you can do to me no more
you cant break a broken heart
so dont waste your time
your time has come and gone
what do you hear boy
you cant hurt me anymore
so try your best now baby try your best to break me
you cant break a broken heart
no damage you can now im immune to you now
you cant break what broke apart
theres nothing you can do to me no more
you cant break a broken heart
so try your best now baby try your best to break me
you cant break a broken heart
no damage you can do now im immune to you now

All The Times We Spilled Our Coffees
Tonight
FM Static
I remember the times we spent together
On those drives
We had a million questions
All about our lives
And when we got to New York
Everything felt right
I wish you were here with me
Tonight
I remember the days we spent together
Were not enough
And I used to feel like dreamin'
Except we always woke up
Never thought not having you here now
Would hurt so much
Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you, I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holding you, holding you, holding you
Tonight
I remember the time you told me
About when you were eight
And all those things you said that night
That just couldn't wait
I remember the car you were last seen in
And the games we would play
All the times we spilled our coffees
And stayed out way too late
I remember the time you sat and told me
About your Jesus
And how not to look back
Even if no one believes us
When it hurts so bad
Sometimes not having you here
I sing
Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you, I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holding you, holding you, holding you
Tonight
I sing
Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holding you, holding you, holding you
Tonight...

Hundred Acres
Return to Pooh Corner
Kenny Loggins
Christopher Robin and I walked along
Under branches lit up by the moon
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon
But I've wandered much further today than I should
And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood
So help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh
Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do
Got a honey jar stuck on his nose
He came to me asking help and advice
And from here no one knows where he goes
So I sent him to ask of the Owl if he's there
How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear
It's hard to explain how a few precious things
Seem to follow throughout all our lives
After all's said and done I was watching my son
Sleeping there with my bear by his side
So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going
I swear that the old bear whispered "Boy welcome home"
Believe me if you can
I've finally come back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
What do you know
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin
Back to the ways of Christopher Robin
Back to the days of Pooh

I remembered this song when I heard Kuya Emer singing this to Iya. First heard it when we (kuya nad, ate gina, ate grace) were watching MYX waaaaay back early part of the decade.
Ayoko kay Winnie the Pooh.

Krispy Kremed

The question as to why doughnuts have holes has been raised by dozens of bakers over the years, but most agree that the answer to this sticky question lies in the fact that the interior of these fried cakes would not cook fully without a hole in the center. In short, the consistency of a doughnut lacking a hole would be, quite simply, doughy.
Another riveting theory as to the origin of the bulls eye in the doughnut holds that a sea captain named Hanson Gregory, while manning his post one stormy night, found it impossible both to steer his vessel and to eat his fried cake. Out of sheer frustration, and probably out of hunger, he impaled his cake over one of the spokes of the ship's wheel, thereby creating a finger hold with which to grip the cake. Quite pleased with his ingenuity, Mr. Gregory ordered the galley's cook to fry the cakes in that manner henceforth.
Whatever the reason for the hole in the doughnut, this fried cake, with or without a hole, has been incorporated into the diets of people throughout the world for centuries. In fact, archaeologists found petrified fried cakes with holes amongst the artifacts of a primitive Indian tribe.
Many credit Dutch settlers to America with introducing the non-holed olykoeks, or"oily cakes," to this continent, and with their subsequent popularity.
There is no disputing the fact that the fried cake became the rage in New York and in New England, and that before long, it became the specialty of coffee shops. Fried cakes came into their own in 1673, when a self-made New York marketing guru, Anna Joralemon, made their purchase at the market possible.
To this day, doughnuts, in any shape or form, remain married in our minds to coffee and police officers, and are here to stay. [Source]

Makes Me Crinkle My Nose
Bubbly
Colbiet Caillat
I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feelin' like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglees in a silly place
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
The rain is fallin' on my window pane
But we are hidin' in a safer place
Under the covers stayin' safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
They start in my toes
Make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way?
I just, mmm
It starts in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
I've been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin' shows
'Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin' me tight
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go
Wherever, wherever, where ever you go

Salamat :)

To Spread Love Like Violins
(I'd build you an empire)
If I had my own world
I'd fill it with wealth and desire
A glorious past to admire
And voices of kids out walking,
Dogs, birds, planes, cleanest cars
If I had my own world
I'd love it for all that's inside it
There'd be no more wars, death or riots
There'd be no more police, packed-parking lots,
Guns, bombs sounding off,
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the far lands
To spread love like violins
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the far lands
To spread love like violins
Let me feel you, carry you higher
Watch your words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder
If I had my own world
I'd show you the life that's inside it
The way that it glows when you find it
The way it survives with it's families,
Friends or it's enemies
Let's make this a new world
I swear you can go if you want to
I know that you have that within you
Inventing the first clean and usable,
God's greatest miracle
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the far lands
To spread love like violins
If I had my own world
I'd build you an empire
From here to the far lands
To spread love like violins
Let me feel you, carry you higher
Watch your words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder
Let me feel you carry you higher
Watch your words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder
Let me feel you carry you higher
Watch your words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder
Let me feel you carry you higher
Watch your words spread hope like fire
Secret crowds rise up and gather
Hear your voices sing back louder

Otil Dipal Principle: Hope for the Hopeless
Yes. Si Lito Lapid. (see picture)

Palaging naka tuck in (naka polo man o tshirt), side burns, mustache, paglalakad at pati ang IQ.
2. Wag matakot sumugal. Roll the dice sabi nga ni Larry Bird.
[aka seesaw move accdg to BBT] hahaha.

Barney Stinson) . Cmon, alam na. hahaha.

Because I am Such a Hottie
Hey Leonardo
Blessed Union of Souls
She don't care about my car
She don't care about my money
And that's real good because I don't got alot to spend
But if I did it wouldn't mean nothin'
She likes me for me
Not because I look like Tyson Beckford
With the charm of Robert Redford
Oozing out my ears
But what she sees
Are my faults and indecisions
My insecure conditions
And the tears upon the pillow that I shed
She don't care about my big screen
Or my collection of DVD's
Things like that just never mattered much to her
Plus she don't watch to much t.v.
And she don't care that I can fly her
To places she ain't never been
But if she really wants to go
I think deep down she knows that
All she has to say is when
She likes me for me
Not because I hang with Leonardo
Or that guy who played in "Fargo"
I think his name is Steve
She's the one for me
And I just can't live without her
My arms belong around her
And I'm so glad I found her once again
And I'm so glad I found her once again
And I'm so glad I found her once again
Gazing at the ceiling
as we entertain our feelings in the dark
The things that we're afraid of are gonna show us
what we're made of in the end
She likes me for me
Not because I sing like Pavarotti
Or because I am such a hottie
I like her for her
Not because she's phat like Cindy Crawford
She has got so much to offer
Why does she waste all her time with me
There must be something there that I don't see
She likes me for me
Not because I'm tough like Dirty Hairy
Make her laugh just like Jim Carrey
Unlike the Cable Guy
But what she sees
Is that I can't live without her
My arms belong around her
And I'm so glad I found her once again
Found her once again
I'm so glad I found her once again
On again

Like a gift from the heavens
Into the Night
Santana Feat Chad Kroeger
1st Verse:]
Like a gift from the heavens, it was easy to tell,
It was love from above, that could save me from hell.
She had fire in her soul it was easy to see,
How the devil himself could be pulled out of me,
There were drums in the air as she started to dance,
Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands,
And we sang...[Chorus:]
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
And the voices rang like the angels sang,
Singing...
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
And we danced on into the night,
(Ay oh ay oh)
And we danced on into the night,[2nd Verse:]
Like a piece to the puzzle that falls into place,
You could tell how we felt from the look on our faces,
She was spinning in circles with the moon in our eyes,
No room left to move between you and I,
We forgot where we were and we lost track of time,
And we sang to the wind as we danced through the night,
And we sang...[Chorus:]
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
And the voices rang like the angels sing,
We`re singing..
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
And we danced on into the night,
(Ay oh ay oh)
And we danced on into the night,
(Ay oh ay oh)
And we danced on into the night,[Santana solo]
[1st Verse repeated]
Like a gift from the heavens, it was easy to tell,
It was love from above, that could save me from hell,
She had fire in her soul it was easy to see,
And the devil himself could be pulled out of me,
There were drums in the air as she started to dance,
Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands,
And we sang...[Chorus:]
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
And the voices rang like the angels sing,
We`re singing...
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
And we danced on into the night,
Ay oh ay oh ay,
(Ay oh ay oh)
And we danced on into the night,
(And the voices bang like the angels sing),
Ay oh ay oh,
Ay oh ay oh,
And we danced on into the night,
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
(Ay oh ay oh),
Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
(Ay oh ay oh),
Singing ay oh ay oh ay oh ay,
(Ay oh ay oh),
And we danced on into the night..

2:05am: Hahalikan nalang natin ang kinabukasan
Tired and weary
I found myself still awake
(and happy - ineffably happy)
amidst the french kissing of
earth and weather
(news has it that the storm is still in palawan)
raindrop drenched katipunan
is once again quiet
(but not for long)
while my psp
plays another Rico Blanco opus
Tadhana’y medyo overrated kung minsan
he sings in the middle of the night
reflecting on life's brevity and rolling the dice
(then Barney's advice comes into mind - what up?!)
Another day has come and gone
Tama - Hahalikan nalang natin ang kinabukasan
------
Rico Blanco - Antukin
Iniwan ka na ng eroplano
Okay lang baby
Wag kang magbago
Dito ka lang
Humimbing
Sa aking piling
Antukin
Kukupkupin nalang kita
Sorry wala ka nang magagawa
Mahalin mo nalang ako
Ng sobra sobra
Para patas naman tayo
Diba?
[chorus]
Sasalubungin natin ang kinabukasan
Ng walang takot at walang pangamba
Tadhana’y merong tip na makapangyarihan
Kung ayaw may dahilan
Kung gusto palaging merong paraan
Pinaiyak ka ng manghuhula
Hindi na raw tayo magkasamang tatanda
Buti na lang
Merong langit na nagtatanggol sa
Pag ibig na pursigido’t matyaga
[bridge]
Long as we stand as one
Ano man ang ating makabangga
Nothing will ever break us
Wala talaga
As in wala
[coda]
Hahalikan nalang natin ang kinabukasan
Ng buong loob at yayakapin pa
Tadhana’y medyo overrated kung minsan
Kung ayaw may dahilan
Kung gusto palaging merong paraan
Gumawa nalang tayo ng paraan
Gumawa nalang tayo ng…
Baby, gumawa nalang tayo ng paraan
*salamat bumabalik na din*

Newest Holiday: Not A Father's Day
Everyone’s talking about the newest, greatest, most awesomest holiday: Not A Father’s Day. Finally men the world over who have experienced the miracle of not having any dependents can celebrate together the special joy of being Not a Father.
But how can you be sure this holiday is for you? It’s simple. In fact, there’s a good chance you’re already Not a Father, but you’ll want to consult the following frequently asked questions first.
Not A Father - FAQs
1. Nobody WANTS to have a child, but how do I know for sure I’m a Not A Father? The easiest way to confirm that you’re a Not a Father is to ask friends and colleagues if they’ve noticed any of your offspring, or even really small people who look like you. No? Congratulations! You’re well on your way to ensuring your Not a Fatherhood.
2. I heard a story about a Not a Father suddenly becoming not a Not a Father. Is that scientifically possible?
Sadly, yes. According to the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, 1,500,000 loud, toothless and vomiting surprises arrive unexpectedly each year, which means that each year, 1,500,000 potential Not a Fathers awake one morning to discover they’ve instantly lost their Saturday nights, about $15,000/yr, roughly 3 trillion+ hours of sleep, and their streak of consecutive days without having to go elbowdeep in baby poop. Yikes.
3. I’m worried about baby poop and walking around in public with a fanny pack. Are there steps that I can take to ensure that I remain a Not a Father?
Certainly. Just abstain from having sex. But seriously, there are effective measures and precautions that you can take to help preserve your Not a Father status. 8 out of 10 sexually active adults who do not use some form of birth control will get pregnant within a year. And with my powerful and potent sperm, the number is much greater – somewhere like nine out of ten or even ten out of ten. That’s why I like to employ some of the following birth control methods:
--"the penis poncho" (condom)
--"sex mints" (birth control pills)
--"outercourse" (dry-humpin’)
--"the WMD’s of sperm" (IUD’s)
--"the circle of bachelorhood" (The Ring)
A more complete and scientifically responsible list can be found here: www.thenationalcampaign.org/unplanned/back2school.aspx

In HIMYM's latest episode, Barney almost got a heart attack, because -- ....wait for it.... --
He almost became a father!!! In celebration of his being Not A Father, he invented this holiday.

After the flood all the colors came out
Beautiful Day
U2
The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town
You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere
You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out
It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

While Lucas Scott is writing a script for an adapation of his book The Unkindness of Ravens in the show One Tree Hill, Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris of Doogie Howser, MD) of the How I Met Your Mother Show releases the book: The Bro Code in the real world. So all you bro's and wingmen out there better get one. (my brother is buying one hahaha)
The Bro Code
At long last I have published "The Bro Code" -- the final authority on acceptable behavior between and among dudes. "The Bro Code" definitively answers some of mankind's most profound dilemmas like "what happens if I accidentally brush against another Bro's junk?" and "how many pizzas should I order?" and "can I sleep with a Bro's ex-girlfriend?" This life-saving document is now available both in book stores and online.
Read an excerpt here.
An informative and valuable read for men and women alike, "The Bro Code" is the perfect stocking stuffer (heh) this holiday season, but don't take my word for it...
Critical Acclaim for "The Bro Code"
"This is the finest piece of literature ever written. Now will you give me my phone back, Barney?"
--Theodore M.
"This is by far the most disgusting, disparaging, stomach churning thing I've ever read, which means a lot if you've ever seen one of my husband's grocery lists."
--Lily A.
"You'll howl... with delight!"
--Stephen King
"Stinson uses language like a scalpel, digging though our deepest emotional tissue to expose the very core of the human psyche."
--Mike Tyson
"Finally! A book worth reading!"
--God
"Stinson beat me to it."
--J.D. Salinger
"Jefferson's out, Stinson's in!"
--Rachel M. (President - Mount Rushmore National Preservation Society)
"An entertaining beach read."
--Pope Benedict XVI
"Ewww."
--Robin S.
"Out of this world!"
--Alien (creature from another planet)
"I'm sorry what?"
--Maya Angelou
"I have a hundred words for 'snowflake' but only one word for 'The Bro Code,' - awesome!"
--Some Eskimo maybe
"This book makes me want to rethink my career."
--Mark (the dude who wrote the Gospel)

A Small Request
Dear God, I pray for the cure of cancer. Amen

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating.
Even if it's to one more person.
In memory of anyone you know who has been struck down by cancer or in honor of anyone living with it.
A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.
Please Keep This Candle Going!
There will be a cure.

A White House for a "Black" Man.
Obama elected president
Obama wins California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington, giving him 324 electoral votes to McCain's 124 (AP). He will be the 44th president of the United States. After a tight battle against Republican Sen. John McCain, Obama has become the first African American president in the history of the United States.
Obama is set to address his supporters from Chicago's Grant Park.
Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware will be accompanying Obama to the White House as his vice president. Biden made his first unsuccessful bid for president in 1988, and again this year before dropping out. A six-term senator, Biden is the chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee. One of his adult sons from his first marriage is currently serving in Iraq.
On June 4, Obama won the Democratic presidential nomination, beating Sen. Hillary Clinton in a tight primary race. The 47-year-old Democratic senator from Illinois stepped into the national spotlight in 2004, delivering the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention.
By now, Obama's personal history is well-known: He was born in Hawaii, the son of a white mother and Kenyan father. Obama's father returned to Kenya when Obama was two years old, leaving him to be raised by his mother and her family, including his beloved grandmother, "Toot," who died one day before her grandson was elected one of the most powerful leaders in the world.
After graduating from Columbia University, he went to Harvard Law School, becoming the first African American president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, where he sits on several committees, including Foreign Relations, Homeland Security and Veterans' Affairs.
Obama and his wife, Michelle, have two young daughters, Malia and Sasha.
***Remembered my mom saying that Obama won't win because the White House was made for White people. Yeah Right.***

So everybody else don’t have to know
Love Lockdown (Kanye West)
I’m not loving you
Way I wanted to
What I had to do
Had to run from you
I’m in love with you
But the vibe is wrong
And that haunted me all the way home
So you never know
Never, never know
Never know enough
Til it’s over love
Til we lose control
System overload
Screamin no no no no no
I’m not lovin you
Way I wanted to
See I want to move
But can’t escape from you
So I keep it low
Keep a secret code
So everybody else don’t have to know
So keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
Keepin’ your love locked down
Your love locked down
Now keep your love locked down
Your love locked down
Now keep your love locked down
You lose
I’m not lovin’ you
Way I wanted to
I can’t keep my cool
So I keep it true
I got something to lose
So I gotta move
I can’t keep myself
And still keep you too
So I keep in mind
When I’m on my own
Somewhere far from home
In the danger zone
How many times did I tell you
‘fore it finally got through
You lose you lose
I’m not lovin’ you
Way I wanted to
See I had to go
See I had to move
No more wastin’ time
You can’t wait for life
Were just racin’ time
Where’s the finish line
Chorus 1X
I’m not lovin’ you
Way I wanted to
I’ve been no one new
I got no one new
No I said I’m through
But got love for you
But I’m not lovin’ you
Way I wanted to
Gotta keep it going
Keep the lovin’ going
Keep it on a role
Only god knows
If I’ll be with you
Baby I’m confused
You choose, you choose
I’m not lovin you
Way I wanted to
Where I want to go
I don’t need you
I’ve been down this road
Too many times before
I’m not lovin you
Way I wanted to
Chorus 1X
You lose
You lose
You lose
You lose

Magiting
Ayos.
Batangueñong Batangueño eh!
Kung kelan, ewan ko pa. Henna muna :p

And this moment keeps on moving...
Adrift [Jack Johnson]
Your voice is adrift
I can't expect it to sing to me
As if I was the only one
I'll follow you
The leaf that's following the sun
When will my weight be too much for you?
When will these ideas really be my own?
Cause this moment keeps on moving
We were never meant to hold on
This was a scene worth waking up for
When I woke up
You planted me in my own body
Don't know why
But somehow it just feels so wrong
When you're sad I will be lonely
But when you rise again I'll become the sun
I will shine down upon you
As if you were the only one
Your voice is your own, I can't protect it
You'll have to sing
A verse no one has ever known
Don't be afraid
Cause no one ever sings alone
Your way will never be too much for me
Your ideas have always been your own
And this moment keeps on moving
We were never meant to hold on
*feel good songs ang Jack Johnson songs - ala old school na John Mayer, try nyo :) *

How Not to Save The World
Valiant efforts are being made every day to end hunger, reduce poverty, save lives. But if we truly want to solve the world’s problems, here are five things we need to do.
By Fareed Zakaria
So you want to spread democracy. By now, it’s pretty obvious that this is easier said than done. George W. Bush’s stirring rhetoric about freedom has suggested a too-simple path: just rid the country of its tyrant and the people will be free. Bush often asserts that people in every country and culture yearn for democracy and are capable of it. To argue otherwise represents cultural condescension. It’s not that President Bush is wrong at the abstract level–if Nazi Germany and fascist Japan could become democratic, it can happen most anywhere–but the argument holds at such an elevated plane that it becomes meaningless when applied on the ground. Consider, for example, Haiti, where the United States has attempted to foster democracy on and off for almost a century–with almost no success. Why? Surely Haitians yearn to be free. But there are aspects of its politics, economics and culture that have made it very difficult to establish liberal democracy. Changing these conditions is a hard, complex and long-term challenge. It is not impossible. There are many examples of success. But there are many more of failure. What is needed is careful study, pragmatism and humility.
One simple path to democracy is to hold elections. This has an obvious appeal. It legitimizes the political system, broadens participation and provides a simple answer to the question “Who should rule?” Holding elections is a defining feature of any liberal democracy. But it should not be the first step in building a democracy. Western societies went through centuries of modernization before they held elections. The Magna Carta, which first established limits on governmental power, preceded universal adult suffrage in Britain by about 800 years. It takes time to develop institutions of law and a civil society. Consider the problem of ethnic and sectarian strife, which is endemic to so many modern societies. If you hold elections in newly democratizing countries too fast, people will vote only according to their established ethnic, religious or racial identities–and that will undermine the creation of a genuine liberal democracy.
But if the simple solutions proposed by the right are not really that effective, neither are those suggested by the left. Foreign aid, for example, is not a panacea. More aid will not produce more democracy, or even better governance. Much of the history of foreign aid is one of good intentions leading to hellish situations–massive corruption and the entrenchment of near feudal elites. The early and successful transitions to democracy–in countries like Taiwan and South Korea in East Asia, and Chile in South America–were not the product of aid programs. There are certainly programs that have worked, many of them in medical and scientific areas. But while debt relief, new loans and grants are all worthwhile, how they are structured is absolutely crucial to their success. Otherwise, they can actually undermine the cause by giving foreign assistance a bad reputation.
If there is a dominant obstacle to building democracy, one that seems to recur in country after country, it is feudalism. In most developing countries, land is the most important asset, and is key to economic and thus political power. And the patterns of land ownership across much of the world are highly unequal. In a country like Pakistan , for example, land ownership has tended to remain concentrated, and as a result, a small group of local elites has wielded power, no matter what the political system. When elections are held, often the candidate elected is a local landowner or someone financed by him. Even in India, the regions where democracy functions worst–the large northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Biharâ–are those places where land ownership resembles that same pattern.
The solution is land reform, an orderly redistribution of assets–most often to the farmers who have worked on the land for generations.
The results speak for themselves. The United States pushed for land reform in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan .
All three ended up with functioning democratic systems. On the other hand, in Haiti, Cuba, the Philippines and Nicaragua , despite having the opportunity, America did not pursue land reform. The result is that in all those countries, establishing democracy has been a long, uphill battle.
Land reform has often been thought of as a socialist project.
But it is really the opposite. Properly done, the process for the first time puts land–the largest asset in most societies–into the marketplace. Most feudal elites acquired their land by dubious–and decidedly nonmarket–means, usually coercion or royal grants. These feudals rarely used their thousands of acres efficiently, often leaving them fallow. Land reform has tended to give ownership of the land to its users, who most often farm it efficiently or sell it to someone who can. The reforms are crucial in converting a backward peasant society into a modern capitalist one, which then creates the basis for civil society and democracy.
Americans should understand the link between privately held land and freedom. The 1862 Homestead Act, which gave away 10 percent of the land in the United States, was premised on precisely this connection. And the eminent economist-activist Hernando de Soto has argued that the chief obstacle to development in the Third World is the unwillingness of feudal elites and governments to give full-fledged property rights to their tenants and farmers.
A call for land reform is not as stirring as one for freedom. It is not as easy to televise as elections. But in the end, it is what will actually make democracy take root in foreign soil.

Koala, anyone?
08/02/1983

Orange Koala is a well-planning person, who is often asked to be a party organizer.
And no matter how long it takes, will steadily accomplish the plan.
You are seen as a very cheerful person and people want you to manage parties.
You are a good sport and are indifferent to other people's opinions. Nevertheless, you have a natural talent to see through the essence of the matter, and have an intuitive ability to predict the future.
You can bounce back from set backs and pull yourself out of fire.
To gain from this opportunity, it is important that you get acquainted with people who are from stages above yourself.
Your luck will develop further from here.
You try to carry out things in your ideal way, but sometimes it could be out of your league, and you can get confused.
When this happens, listen to the words of those you trust.
Money wise, you are not interested and are unselfish.
You are not impulsive shopper, and are economical person.
If you concentrate too much on yourself, you could become a "freak" or a geek, and get absorbed in your own little world.
You could become unsocial person and people may treat you as a queer person.
You are not good at repetitive work.
Unique occupations concerning the music industry, entertainers, trend spotter would suit the Orange Koalas who has the ability to forecast the future.
