Seriously!

Sunday, October 18, 2009

That night.

Yes, that was the night the front of my car kissed the ass of a fucking Canter truck.

Wednesday, 14th of October at around 7:20pm.

For the record, I was not:

[1] drunk or under any influence
[2] texting or calling

but I just woke up 30 minutes prior to my drive. I was about to gas up at a cheaper Petron gas station and eat dinner after. But then, as always, shit happens.

And shit happens to have a hefty price tag. Er, ok, I'm getting ahead of myself.

So, there I was driving and just passed by a Petron gas station that charges a peso more per liter than the other Petron I was going to (a mere kilometer or two between them), I was on a straight, dark road and I just shifted up to 4th gear. Then the fucking behind of the truck came out of nothing and in four seconds was FK'd by my bumper.

And in that four seconds, this is what I did:
[1] down shifted to 2nd gear
[2] looked at the shoulder (of the road, at the right side). Can't swerve there:
[a] there is a trike (human + road accident = RIP)
[b] there is a ditch (fine, kanal!) car -> ditch = ouch
[c] or if fuck happens, trike + ditch + accident = $$$$$$$$$$$$ (walang peso sign sa keyboard)
[3] looked at the oncoming traffic on the left side. not an option: Bus vs car = guess what.
[4] engined braked and tried to hit the trucks 'step' thing at the back.

*NB*: Buckling up your seat belt is underrated.

I braced myself for the impact and the funny thing was, I was expecting the air bag to pop out/inflate. Too bad the car was jurassic enough not to have one in it.

I was shaking when I got out and looked at the front of the car. Fucking first time. I'm screwed.

The truck's driver came out and was asking me "what the fuck did you bump me?" (but in tagalog) I looked at him and shouted, "you don't have any fucking brake lights! I didn't see you!" And I also noticed that the truck was last registered way back in '07.

So the police and tanod came. We came to an agreement that the repairs would be "each to his own".

And 27k is cost of the repair plus a lifetime of rubbing from everyone from my clan.

Shit does happen.

ABANTE  - TONITE ONLINE
Octobre 13,2009

You can't stop, what you can't see. :)

Words: a 55 word story part 1

She was the word thief. Unannounced, unexpected she came all of a sudden in his life. She wore an angel for her face and a goddess for her body. But underneath was a soul hungry for words and attention. She was the word thief; and she came to steal his words and break his heart.

another of those annoying 55's that flood your inbox :p

“We should have taken the STAR,” he whispered to himself, a bit too loud- doesn't like long drives. She looked at him, from the passenger seat, and gleefully exclaimed, “diamond!” It took a few seconds before it hit him – a few seconds too long to make her laugh. That night, they called the road - diamond.

----------

The engine died, just as he was backing up. He looked at her with a disappointed face; she looked at him a bit surprised that he was looking at her. “That happens to me every time I drive stick,” she said encouragingly. He smiled, turned the engine on, and held her hand. A perfect fit.

another couple of 55's

He never liked coffee nor sitting outside the house during a cold night. But tonight, he sat there, with a cup of coffee, pondering. He closes his eyes and listens to the chorus of crickets in July. Their song reminds him of home. A tear is shed, his goodbye might not be that far away.

-----

He strums his guitar, while the sound it makes is drowned by the falling rain. He sings his heart out to her, even though she can't hear him. As his fingers slide in each fret and lock each string, he remembers her smile, her eyes, her hair - each chord, each note, each line is her.

a couple of 55's

“Wait for me here,” he said. She looked at him, smiled, and said, “Let's go together.” Armed with childish laughters and her striped umbrella, they moved towards the parking lot. It was a dark and stormy night, the winds threatening to blow away their cover. But with them together, it couldn't be any better, warmer.

-----------------------
In an enclosed space, he sat thinking. With a lit cigarette on his right hand, his left hand on his chin and memories of yesterday in his mind, he puffs in nicotine into his lungs. As smoke fills his mouth, emotions cloud his mind – is this love? He closes his eyes, and exhales all doubts.

Get you home by midnight

Southside
Lloyd Feat Ashanti

(Verse 1A: Lloyd)
Tell yah daddy stop his hatin',
'Cause I be wearing braids and rockin' jerseys daily,
But that don't mean I'm thuggin' though.
He don't want me with yah, but I ain't tryna hear it though,
Not tryna hear it though.

(Verse 1B: Ashanti)
But I know that if he knew yah, he would understand yah.
Know that you're my man and you would never hurt me, no.
Let me come and see you so that we can be alone, alone.

(Bridge: Lloyd and Ashanti)
(Lloyd:) Baby I know a place that we can go and be alone.
(Ashanti:) As long as you make sure that you safely get me home.
(Lloyd:) Don't worry baby…

(Hook: Lloyd [and Ashanti])
(Lloyd:) Meet me at the south side, get you home by midnight,
Make sure that your daddy just don't know (Ashanti: daddy just don't know).
I'll put you in the hood bug, I know what I'm doin',
'Cause that's where we'll be eating on the low (Ashanti: eating on the low).
Meet me at the south side, baby we can go hide,
Knowin' that mah boys gon' have my back (Ashanti: yeah-eeh-yeah).
Only at the south side girl (Ashanti: southside, eh-eeh-eh),
South side.

(Verse 2A: Lloyd)
Girl, I'll know that we can make it, 'cause we won't let 'em break it.
I don't care who's wit' it, its you and me against the world.
Tell me those three words that lets' me know you're still my girl,
Oh baby, yeah!

(Verse 2B: Ashanti)
Ooh, I swear I'll never leave you.
(Why) people have lied to yah?
But by your side I'll show yah, the way a girl needs to roll.
You don't need a lot of money; I'm ready come pick me up (pick me up).

(Bridge: Lloyd and Ashanti)
(Lloyd:) Baby I know a place that we can go and be alone.
(Ashanti:) Long as you make sure that you safely get me home!
(Lloyd:) Don't worry baby…

(Hook: Lloyd [and Ashanti])
(Lloyd:) Meet me at the south side, get you home by midnight (Ashanti: midnight!),
Make sure that your daddy just don't know (Ashanti: ohhh, no-no!).
I'll put you in the hoodbug, I know what I'm doin',
'Cause that's where we'll be eating on the low (Ashanti: eating on the low, ohh!).
Meet me at the south side, baby we can go hide,
Knowin' that mah boys gon' have my back (Ashanti: we can go hide, babe).
Only at the south side girl (Ashanti: yeah-eeh-yeah),
Southside, (Ashanti: south side).

(Verse 3: Lloyd and Ashanti)
(Lloyd:) Baby we can…
(Ashanti:)Baby we can (baby we can, yeah)…
(Lloyd:) Alright…
(Lloyd:) Yeah baby (Ashanti: yeah baby, heh)…
(Lloyd:) Meet me at the south side girl (Ashanti: Oh-oh-oh-ooh-oh-oh-oh…)…
(Lloyd and Ashanti:) 'Cause all I want to do, is ride to the south wit' you.
(Ashanti: Ooooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-hooh-hoh-ooooh-oooooh).
(Llyod:) ATL Georgia, what do we do for yah?

(Hook: Lloyd [and Ashanti])
(Lloyd:) Meet me at the south side
(Lloyd: you can come and meet me yeah-eeh-yeah, yeah),
Get you home by midnight (Ashanti: midnight),
Make sure that your daddy just don't know (Ashanti: oh, no-no).
I'll put you in the hoodbug, I know what I'm doin',
'Cause that's where we'll be eating on the low
(Ashanti: meet me at the south side, yeah, meet me at the south side, yeah).
Meet me at the south side (Lloyd: south side), baby we can go hide,
Knowin' that mah boys gon', have my back.
Only at the southside girl, (Lloyd: gotchu in tha hoodbug), (Ashanti: got me in tha hood)
Southside, (Lloyd: but it's all good, we goin' chill), (Ashanti: we goin' chill).

(Outro: Lloyd and Ashanti)
(Lloyd:) ATL Georgia, what do we do for yah?
Bulldoggin' like we Georgetown Hoyas.
(Ashanti:) Can you pick me up tonight, take me anywhere you like?
(Lloyd:) Shorty lets ride, in my Cadillac (Ashanti: Cadillac),
(Lloyd:) Tilt yo' seat back,
And everything'll be cool (Ashanti: yeah).
Side, girl (Ashanti: yeah).
Alright (Ashanti: oooh-oh-no, no-ooh-hooh).
So what you wanna do (Ashanti: we goin' kick it tonight)?
(Ashanti: yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, only at the south side).
I know it, that you ain't used to this country boy, but I'll show ya (Ashanti: show me).
Ain't nuttin' but a thang (Ashanti: yeah-yeah-yeah),
Chicken wings on string (Ashanti: baby-baby-baby).
That's how I hang (Ashanti: only at the south side, south side, south side…)

Thug Mansion
[Tupac feat Nas]

Shit, tired of gettin shot at
Tired of gettin chased by the police and arrested
Niggaz need a spot where WE can kick it
A spot where WE belong, that's just for us
Niggaz ain't gotta get all dressed up and be Hollywood
Y'knahmean? Where do niggaz go when we die?
Ain't no heaven for a thug nigga
That's why we go to thug mansion
That's the only place where thugs get in free and you gotta be a G
... at thug mansion

[Verse One: 2Pac]
A place to spend my quiet nights, time to unwind
So much pressure in this life of mine, I cry at times
I once contemplated suicide, and woulda tried
But when I held that 9, all I could see was my momma's eyes
No one knows my struggle, they only see the trouble
Not knowin it's hard to carry on when no one loves you
Picture me inside the misery of poverty
No man alive has ever witnessed struggles I survived
Prayin hard for better days, promise to hold on
Me and my dawgs ain't have a choice but to roll on
We found a family spot to kick it
Where we can drink liquor and no one bickers over trick shit
A spot where we can smoke in peace, and even though we G's
We still visualize places, that we can roll in peace
And in my mind's eye I see this place, the players go in fast
I got a spot for us all, so we can ball, at thug's mansion

[Chorus: J. Phoenix + (Nas)]
Every corner, every city
There's a place where life's a little easy
Little Hennessy, laid back and cool
Every hour, cause it's all good
Leave all the stress from the world outside
Every wrong done will be alright (I wanna go)
Nothin but peace (I wanna go) love (I wanna go nigga)
And street passion, every ghetto needs a thug mansion

[Verse Two: Nas]
A place where death doesn't reside, just thugs who collide
Not to start beef but spark trees, no cops rollin by
No policemen, no homicide, no chalk on the streets
No reason, for nobody's momma to cry
See I'm a good guy, I'm tryin to stick around for my daughter
But if I should die, I know all of my albums support her
This whole year's been crazy, asked the Holy Spirit to save me
Only difference from me and Ossie Davis, gray hair maybe
Cause I feel like my eyes saw too much sufferin
I'm just twenty-some-odd years, I done lost my mother
And I cried tears of joy, I know she smiles on her boy
I dream of you more, my love goes to Afeni Shakur
Cause like Ann Jones, she raised a ghetto king in a war
And just for that alone she shouldn't feel no pain no more
Cause one day we'll all be together, sippin heavnly champagne
What angels saw, with golden wings in thug's mansion

[Chorus w/o Nas]

[Verse Three: 2Pac]
Dear momma don't cry, your baby boy's doin good
Tell the homies I'm in heaven and they ain't got hoods
Seen a show with Marvin Gaye last night, it had me shook
Drippin peppermint Schnapps, with Jackie Wilson, and Sam Cooke
Then some lady named Billie Holiday
Sang sittin there kickin it with Malcolm, 'til the day came
Little LaTasha sho' grown
Tell the lady in the liquor store that she's forgiven, so come home
Maybe in time you'll understand only God can save us
When Miles Davis cuttin lose with the band
Just think of all the people that you knew in the past
that passed on, they in heaven, found peace at last
Picture a place that they exist, together
There has to be a place better than this, in heaven
So right before I sleep, dear God, what I'm askin
Remember this face, save me a place, in thug's mansion

[Chorus]

Old is Cool :)

Bone Thugs n Harmony Sound Trip. Old School is Cool. Classic Shizzle.

WTF. Kanto HipHop spreading like wildfire. "Bounce" FTW.

Where you at?

This is going out to the whole wide Westside
you know what i'm saying,
yeah break it down for me
steady mob, rock, rock on

I was just a young boy, livin in the hub city-Eastside Compton G
Back in the days when Ice Cube and Eazy had every Nigga
Talking 'bout boy you can't fuck with me
Remember Ice T had da power, hearing gunshots lickin' by the hour
When Too Short bumped in every supersport
And taught us all how to ride for the West Coast

[chorus]
To my peoples if you with me - where you at
Throw your dubs in the air - and wave 'em like you just don't care
From LA to the Bay - what you say - all day... everyday... any damn day
Take a look around, we got the whole world locked down
Going on and on, it don't stop...won't stop... can't stop
Either ride or die - that's why i put it down for the westside

Didn't seem that long ago, (oh no) we were stealing 40's out the liquor store (oh no)
Mama started tripping so it's time to go
Up to the park with the locsta's
Everybody broke, smokin' roaches
DJ Quik was the shit had every nigga claiming he was from the CPT
Ya'll remember one-time tried to clown
We had to burn this bitch on down

[bridge]
One time for my niggas in incarceration
I blaze a dime with you for having lots of patience
Two times for my sista's at the county building
I got some westside love for all you ghetto children
Three times for my niggas that done passed away
I tip some gin for you and pray for better days
One day everything's gonna be fine
But until that day my only reply is...
WESTSDIE TILL I DIE

[chorus]
To my peoples if you with me - where you at
Throw your dubs in the air - and wave 'em like you just don't care
From LA to the Bay - what you say - all day... everyday... any damn day
Take a look around, we got the whole world locked down
Going on and on, it don't stop...won't stop... can't stop
Either ride or die - gotta give it up for the westside

From Crenshaw to Foothill Blvd.
All i see are Lo Lo's and mob cars - Daytons and five stars
All the true hobs is hittin' switches
With all the finest riches of course the bombest bitches
Don't get it twisted Ask me what's a real G
Show me a nigga scrapping back against the wall until his knuckles bleed
Screaming death to all our enemies and those who don't believe
WEST COAST LIVIN' BE THE SHIT TO ME!!!

[bridge]
One time for my niggas in incarceration
I blaze a dime with you for having lots of patience
Two times for my sista's at the county building
I got some love for all you ghetto children
Three times for my niggas that done passed away
I tip some gin for you and pray for better days

Throw your dubs in the air - and wave 'em like you just don't care
From LA to the Bay - what you say - all day... everyday... any damn day
Take a look around, we got the whole world locked down
Going on and on, it don't stop...won't stop... can't stop
Either ride or die - gotta give it up for the westside

To my peoples if you with me - where you at
Throw your dubs in the air - and wave 'em like you just don't care
From LA to the Bay - what you say - all day... everyday... any damn day
Take a look around, we got the whole world locked down
Going on and on, it don't stop...won't stop... can't stop
Either ride or die - La la la la la la la la

To my peoples if you with me - where you at
Throw your dubs in the air - and wave 'em like you just don't care
From LA to the Bay - what you say - all day... everyday... any damn day
Take a look around, we got the whole world locked down
Going on and on, it don't stop...won't stop... can't stop
Either ride or die - TQ gonna give it up for the westside

To my peoples if you with me - where you at
Throw your dubs in the air - and wave 'em like you just don't care
From LA to the Bay - what you say - all day... everyday... any damn day
Take a look around, we got the whole world locked down
Going on and on, it don't stop...won't stop... can't stop
Either ride or die - gotta give it up for the westside>

Squint your eyes and look closer

32 Flavors - Alana Davis

Squint your eyes and look closer
Im not between you and your ambition
I am a poster girl with no poster
I am thirty-two flavors and then some
And Im beyond your peripheral vision
So you might want to turn your head
Cause someday youre going to get hungry
And eat most of the words you just said

Both my parents taught me about good will
And I have done well by their names
Just the kindness Ive lavished on strangers
Is more than I can explain
Still theres many whove turned out their porch lights
Just so I would think they were not home
And hid in the dark of their windows
Til Id passed and left them alone

And God help you if you are an ugly girl
Course too pretty is also your doom
Cause everyone harbors a secret hatred
For the prettiest girl in the room
And God help you if you are a pheonix
And you dare to rise up from the ash
A thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy
While you are just flying back

Im not trying to give my life meaning
By demeaning you
And I would like to state for the record
I did everything that I could do
Im not saying that Im a saint
I just dont want to live that way
No, I will never be a saint
But I will always say

Squint your eyes and look closer
Im not between you and your ambition
I am a poster girl with no poster
I am thirty-two flavors and then some
And Im beyond your peripheral vision
So you might want to turn your head
Cause someday you might find youre starving
And eating all of the words you said

Here's a thought for every man

another classic from Oasis.

Cast No Shadow

Here's a thought for every man
Who tries to understand what is in his hands
He walks along the open road of Love & Life
surviving if he can

Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
Chained to all the places that he never wished to say
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
and as faced the sun he cast no shadow

As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride

Here's a thought for every man
Who tries to understand what is in his hands
He walks along the open road of Love & Life
surviving if he can

Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
Chained to all the places that he never wished to say
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
and as he faced the sun he cast no shadow

As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride

And as he faced the sun he cast no shadow

Es tan corto el amor

Puedo Escribir

before the street begins

Where the Sidewalk Ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

Genre

It is the third and final installment of the footballing trilogy Goal! being directed by Andrew Morahan.

Synopsis

GOAL! III: TAKING ON THE WORLD! is the third part of the football film trilogy Goal! and is directed by legendary music video Director (Andy Morahan).
Taking place during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, it sees Mexican footballer Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) pitted against his Real Madrid team-mates and England players Charlie Braithwaite (Leo Gregory) and Liam Adams (JJ Feild) in a mutual quest to lift sport’s ultimate prize. Santi is motivated to try and win the trophy for his late father and family back in Los Angeles and Madrid. Meanwhile, Charile and Liam just want to try and end the Three Lions’ “40 years of pain”.
For all three charismatic footballers, the path to potential success is one fraught with temptations and torments - and all three have to deal with personal issues off the pitch that affects their roles on it.
Gracing the screen with a splash of glamour are two beautiful WAG’S: Italian actress Sophia Tardelli (Kasia Smutniak) and one of our heroes’ ex-girlfriends, June (Anya Lahiri).

Also following the tournament around Germany in their St George’s Cross festooned camper van are the ‘Geordie Boys’, whom we first met back in Goal!. Providing the often hilarious fan’s perspective of the matches are Gordon (Mike Elliott), Foghorn (Christopher Fairbank), Walter (Jack McBride) and Phil (Craig Heaney).
The film includes incredible football action shot at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals in Germany which was shot by legendary Director (Michael Apted) .

Filming for Goal! 3 started in June/July of 2006, during the actual 2006 World Cup. The film will feature some of the players from the Mexico squad.

Forza Barca!

Messi crowned king of the Champions League

Jordi Clos

In a Champions League showdown billed as Lionel Messi against Cristiano Ronaldo to see who is the best player in the world it was the Portuguese international that began brightly, but the Argentinian that came out as a hero.

The Barcelona and Manchester United stars drew nearly all the attention during an intense build-up to the Champions League final in Rome as they have been cited as the best by FIFA and France Football magazine and neither disappointed, but just like in the Bernabéu against Real Madrid, Messi was able to move in field more, while Ronaldo also took up a central role as he did against Arsenal in the semi finals.

Imposing Ronaldo

ZUERAS_FC.BARCELONA_-_MANCHESTER_UNITED_FINAL_CHAMPIONS_27-05-09_040.JPGIn the opening minutes it was Ronaldo that shone as he saw a free-kick from 25 yards that saw Vítor Valdés parry the ball and have Gerard Piqué clear the rebound and again the United player took aim from 40 minutes soon after with a drive that was off target as he looked confident and ambitious. There was to be another effort in the eighth minute that flew past the far post too.

Eto'o opens the scoring

Manchester United's early promise and attacking intent had the brakes firmly put on it after ten minutes though when Barcelona netted the first goal of the game with their opening attack as Samuel Eto'o beat Edwin van der Sar. Practically of the Red Devils' attacks came through Ronaldo and in the end he was having to be stopped by any means properly as Gerard Piqué proved when being booked in the 16th minute.

Growing in confidence

WEB_02.jpgBarça grew in confidence and improved throughout in the Olympic Stadium and within the team Messi also looked better and better as he linked up well with the ever-impressive Andrés Iniesta and Xavi Hernández to keep United chasing the game and chasing the ball. The Argentinian had his first chance of the game in the 19th minute when he looked up from outside the area and sent a drive that flew just over Van der Sar's crossbar. Before half-time he then embarked on a run towards the centre of the Manchester United defence before shooting.

The second goal

In the second half the game opened up even more and Messi had claims for a penalty waved away in the 50th minute. His statistics were also well on the way to being impressive as he completed 51 passes, with 84 per cent success rate, while Ronaldo managed 31 passes, with a 68 per cent success rate. In the 70th minute the two players were separated at last as Messi was picked out by a sublime cross from Xavi and he rose behind Ferdinand to send a stunning header beyond Van der Sar and into the far corner of the net. Ronaldo's game concluded as he received a card for a tackle on Puyol and left Messi being crowned as the king of the Champions League with nine goals.

SG8 = Footballer of the Year

The Liverpool skipper beat off competition from Manchester United pair Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney to win the most prestigious individual award in English football.

Having already landed the PFA Fans Player of the Year award this season, the FWA honour caps another incredible campaign for the 28-year-old midfielder, who has led by example and driven his side to within touching distance of achieving their title dreams.

Whether those dreams are realised over the next week or not remains to be seen, but over the course of the past ten months Gerrard has once again cemented his standing as the finest midfielder in European football.

His two goals at West Ham United on Saturday - which temporarily fired Liverpool back to the top of the league - saw him climb above Ian St John in the club's all-time scoring charts as he took his tally for the season to an impressive 23, equalling his best ever return in a red shirt.

Fifteen of his goals this term have arrived in the Premier League and have included strikes in high-profile games against Manchester United and Everton, while in Europe he also rose to the occasion with five goals in the group stages - including his 100th goal for Liverpool against PSV Eindhoven - and then two more against Real Madrid in the last sixteen clash at Anfield.

"We are delighted to honour Steven's contribution this season with our prestigous award," said Steve Bates, National Chairman of the Football Writers' Association.

"Steven has had a fantastic season and has so often been the driving force behind Liverpool's forceful challenge for the Barclays Premier League title.

"His passion and desire to send the title race into the closing days of this campaign has underpinned Liverpool's pursuit of Manchester United and he has frequently caught the eye with outstanding performances which have showcased his considerable talent.

"Steven is viewed by the Football Writers who voted as the heartbeat of Liverpool's team and a player who gives everything for the cause.

"He beat off a strong challenge from Old Trafford stars Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand to emerge as a clear winner and he follows a long and illustrious list of British and European footballers to win the vote of the Football Writers."

Steven will be presented with his award at a gala dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Friday May 29.

-----

Pasensya kung may kaguluhan bagong gising lang.

-----

[2]    Siguradong patay tayo diyan.
